High-rise projects require a huge impact of work to design. And, to demonstrate the effect of all the efforts in the best glow, an architect has to set up a terrific presentation. But how does one explain all the design details, the carefully selected materials, and the curated feeling of such an impressive construction? With the help of the visualization studio, architects can get an enormous selection of static and animated visuals to showcase their high-rise concepts in full splendor.
First of all, CGI allows showing the design from distinct angles. There are street, aerial, worm’s-eye, and superman views. Each of them highlights a certain viewpoint of the design, such as height, form, materials, and etc. For example, the street view shows how people will see the building while passing by or coming inside. That gives the client the essential visual perspective to realize what the skyscraper will look like to its guests or tenants in reality. If we talk about the aerial view, it depicts the construction in its full dimension from afar, capturing the environment as well. Looking at this type of CGI, a client can easily see if the concept is in concord with its surroundings. Or, on the opposite, if it stands out enough — whatever the goal of the project might be.
Aerial views are extremely useful when a skyscraper is to be built in an area with strict architectural design regulations. Because, in this case, there’s no better way to prove visual compliance than by presenting a photorealistic render. And here is my favorite - a worm’s-eye view. It is opposite the aerial. It demonstrates the skyscraper from below as if the observer was watching it from a very low angle. It’s perfect for showcasing high-rises, as it emphasizes their height, shows all the power of the building, and looks unconditionally impressive on the CGIs. And the last is a superman view which allows one to zoom in on the details and give you an idea about panoramic windows, balconies, and terraces. With this point of view, an architect can reveal in detail the quality materials they’ve chosen and all the niceties of the interior.
Secondly, skyscraper CGI shows all the finest parts of the exterior illumination. We all understand that lighting significantly influences our insight into architecture in the evening and at night. It is particularly imperative in the case of such huge structures as skyscrapers that always have complex, thoroughly planned exterior lighting systems. By using dusk and nighttime renders, architects can show all lighting solutions in great detail. Last but not least, we have visual impacts that can spice up any skyscraper render and give it some extra shine. The CG images can have weather and season of choice, as well as precise color grading to set the mood for the concept. Moreover, 3D artists can add such special effects as lens flares, vignettes, and many others to highlight the vibe of the place even more.
